let's get lost

sometimes i just want to join crazy berlin with rita, move to lovely stockholm and be with carro, buy a single ticket to london and live there with hannah, or just learn french and go to paris on my own. i just wanna go somewhere new, have a blast and get lost, you know? and that sometimes has occured a littlebit too often lately.
the world's alright with me

hedvig, anna and andrea and came around this morning for some clothes swapping and lunch! i got out two of our 485389 stuffed ikea bags with clothes, besides clothes, hedvig even brought a cute box and anna brought jewleries and nail polish! in one of the bags i noticed mum's old pair of leather jeans in which i threw over to the other side of the room (of embarrassment) before andrea ran over and picked it up and screamed 'dibs!!!!!!!!!' - she tried it on and i swear she looked like lara croft! hahaha! we spent some time sun bathing on the balcony before mum served us a delicious taco dish!

before the girls arrived i had time to sort out my closet! i placed thick jumpers and wool clothing at the top of my closet and took down all my lovely jumpsuits and dresses! i'd forgotten about most of the items with flowery patterns and i'm so happy right now. in the winter my style tends to be too black and plain coloured, but i swear i'm the most coloured and flowery person! i seriously can't waittttttttt to bring all these beautiful dresses and cute jumpsuits to england this summer!
may all your wishes and dreams come true

yesterday i was lucky enough to celebrate two birthdays! johanne's just turned 18 (last one!) and all her girls were gathered around for lunch. home-made bread, tuna salad, different salads, quiches and pies. delicious! alvilde and i were already going to prableen's for an indian dinner so we were trying not to eat too much, but we got caught in all the good food.. i also got to see my old friends again who i don't get to speak to too often and we were being nostalgic about teachers and students we went to primary and middle school with.

i got to see my lovely emma and we told each other about our winter holidays - she was back in wisconsin where she lived last year and i was back on the isle of wight.

loving how everyone's got their converses out

alvilde and i popped by mine so that i could get changed, before we got the bus to lørenskog and prableen's house! she turned 19 this week and all of her girls were around too! plus her two male best friends. i don't really know what to say - the dinner was of course extremely delicious (a chickpeas dish and a chicken dish, plus salad and rice) and the company was lovely! she'd gathered a good combination of classmates, sikh and indian friends and a few politicians. after dinner, prableen opened presents, we had cake and then we played a game called 'kortskalle'. basically everyone gets a post-it-note sticked to their forehead with a name on it, and they have to ask yes/no questions in order to find out who you are. a great ice breaker (not that it was needed) which makes people laugh out loud!
bolteløkka goods

bolteløkka y u did me no good? the school was so crowded i was literally grasping for air! the parents charged way too much for the items! there was this lovely light denim jacket from benetton and this woman wanted 200 kroner for it!! they'd made a 'quality section' which was sooo over-prised it was ridiculous. i hope she regrets not selling me that jacket for 100 kroner tomorrow evening when nobody's bought it. anyway i got these two tshirts - first one is from monki and the second one has a periodic table print! i also bought an over-size lined denim jacket which my mum thinks looks awful, so i'm not going to put it up, haha.
time for loppis

mum and i are going to a flea market at bolteløkka primary school today! it will be our first for the season and i'm deadly excited. going there at ten o'clock when it opens to get all the good stuff.
friendship isn't a big thing, it's a million little things

these two photos suddenly appeared on facebook! it was a lovely day in august or september, spent with rita, aksel and sondre in the park and later walking through bogstadveien because all the shops had their market's day. i remember sondre struggled to find the right setting for his camera to make both of our faces visible. rita's face would always disappear, haha! i'll blame my own paleness! a lovely day nontheless. photo: sondre storli
seasons in the sun

good morning! it's early in the morning but i've already been awake since seven. the last two weeks i've gone to sleep before ten o'clock every night! so yesterday when i was bed at half past eleven, and it felt like five in the morning. i have my windows open and it smells like spring! ahhh it's made me so happy! yesterday karoline and i spent some time in the park to catch the last bit of sun. rita tagged along and i hadn't seen her for a couple of weeks due to her holiday in berlin!! so that was nice. we went back to mine and ate so much tortilla chips we were too full to make taco. karoline, however, has given up sweets and chocolate for lent, so she was a goodgirl!

friday afternoon, after finishing school at half past twelve, andrea, alvilde, jenny, raija, anna and i walked down to grønland and punjab tandori. apparently the best indian fast food restaurant in oslo! they do really good food. it's cliche but the sun was shining and it was so hot and just lush! we wandered around at grønland, popped by vita before we made our ways home.
kiwi!

kiwi has finally opened at john colletts plass! they shut down the coop in january somewhen, and we've been without a supermarket for about two months now. now i can pop by the shop on my way home from school! mum and i went on a inspection last night (it's open until eleven!!) and seeing the big range of food (compared to the old shop) and the ailes being so well organised gave me shivers. funfun. we also bumped into 385908 different neighbours who were just as amazed as we were.
a post about trains, happy trolls, swedish food, thailand, muscles shaking, a coconut cake and erik satie

right guys! it's time for a proper recap of what i've been up to lately. together with alvilde from my class, i got the train home from my lovely stay in kongsberg on sunday. including her brother, we spent the time studying for school and discussing whose socks were the most expensive ones. i got home and went to bed before ten o'clock! i swear i have an obsession with going to bed early lately.

my new happytrolls have now moved into my room! i'm very satisfied! however the arranging is temporary, plus there isn't enough space for them on the two shelves, they need to be moved at some point. the collection now consists of 71 trolls!

mum's been across the border in the weekend, and came back with the famous swedish sausage falukorv! in other words my very favourite thing to put on the bread. she also brought back capri-sonne, which is the best fruit drink! to be honest there isn't anything spectacular with the actual juice, it's just capri-sonne was the only thing i had to drink when i was in thailand in 1999/2000 (new year!). so it still reminds me of when i was a little girl on holiday with my best friend emilie, our parents and their massive group of friends. the adults had only just turned 30 - the ultimate party&responsibility age, no wonder it was a cool holiday? we had the time of our lives, living in bungalows on the beach and i even learned to swim! ahhh enough about nostalgia..... sorry guys!

after the conference at nho (the confederation of norwegian enterprise) with my politics class today, i got home and made myself tomato soup with too much macaroni. i sank down in the couch for half an hour before i got up and attended my planned gym session. 10 motivation points to me!! it was my favourite instructor so my muscles are shaking right now. (proves she is good at pushing!!)

and now? i've enjoyed a coconut cake (wtf google translate) - kokosbolle! i'm waiting for my mum to get home because it's boring here without her. off to play the piano now, i'm playing an erik satie piece at the moment, i love him!!

good night from kongsberg

after lovely karoline stayed the night (which was wonderful because we had a lot to catch up on and we made chicken in pita and watched all the good tv shows and fell asleep on the sofa) i took a trip to kongsberg today. the bus was almost empty and i was sat reading a book when this person sat down next to me. it turned out to be alvilde from my class!! haha! she was going to kongsberg to see her mum. seriously in my class there are five people with a connection to the little town kongsberg (population - only 25 000 people)! so that was a good surprise and we had a nice chat on the way to kongsberg. as i walked in the door, mommo served waffles and she made lasagne for dinner. just like old times! kongsberg home sweet home.
a happy collection of fourty happy trolls
earlier this week i was contacted by a woman who wondered if i still was interested in buying happy trolls (after my happy trolls advert on finn.no), because she had a big collection. she turned out to live in kongsberg, and no less than half an hour later, my grandad was in the car to pick up the 40 trolls! my grandad does anything for me!

i'm in kongsberg now and you should've seen my face when i got to see these! my nan had placed them on the terrace after she'd washed them, because apparently they stinked of tobacco. haha. i'm blown away by how adorable and well-dressed they are! the price was 350 kroner, (about 9 kroner per troll). funny because this other bloke wanted 100 kroner for one troll! these pictures are a few of my favourites, i can't wait to go back home and put them all up together - my collection now consists of about 75 trolls. i will have to rearrange my room!
are we still in denial when we know we're not happy here
ever since outcast released their 'hey ya' in 2003, it's been one of my all time favourites. these two covers have touched me in different ways - the first one by obadiah parker because he's got so much emotion when he sings. the second cover is a sister and brother duo, and it's just the most loving thing! it's times like this when i wish i had a brother to make records with! next time, god. next time.
